Tiger Reserves Disappoint

June 28th 2009

The Tigers reserve grade side has shown contrasting form over the past few weeks so the intrepid band of eden supporters who travelled to bega were wondering which side was playing on Sunday. We were still not sure aftwer a highly entertaining first 25 minutes where play had moved from end to end. Eden were denied what would have been the first try before Bega seemed to take the ascendency and score two quick tries before the break to lead 12- 0 at half time.

We have waited all year to se Nathan Kabilu in full flight. However this Bega defender had other ideas and run the "Flash" down.
The second half started disastrously with Eden's kick off into touch on the full and Bega scoring after two successive penalties. As the handling errors compounded and the Tigers attack seemed to lack direction and focus, Bega's confidence grew and they played an entertaining brand of football to run round, through and over the Eden side. The final score was 40-0. Scott Munday had a good game at fullback, Wade and Gooch gave their all as did captain Laurence Bamblett.

The Tigers had several good chances to score but just could not convert and ended up getting thrashed in a game they could have won.
Laurence Bamblett gets a check after stabbing through a grubber kick.
