Cooma Defeat Reserves

The Tigers reserves were significantly undermanned for what was always going to be a tough task taking on the competition leaders Cooma. This became even more apparent when Cooma scored an early try following a Cooma penalty and Zeke Stokes smashed through the Tigers defence to give them a 6-0 lead. Cooma scored again to take a 10 - 0 lead. The Tigers seemed to settle down after these early setbacks and played some very good football but were unable to crack the Cooma defence. Shane Mongta and Laurence bamblett were trying all their tricks, while Nick Bowes was getting through some great work in defence and attack. Eden had a great chance to hit back after a Mongta 40-20 but dropped the ball on the first tackle.
Cooma's Daniel Thomas scored the next try to give the Stallions a 14-0 lead and right on half time Andrew Boller scored again to extend the lead to 20-0 at half time.
The second half began with both sides getting to their kicks and looking for field position, but when a Cooma kick was knocked on and they fed the resulting scrum 10 metres out from the Tigers line Jason O'Brien scored for the home side and the score moved to 26-0Glenn Cummings and Dean Wolfe scored further tries for Cooma and the final score was Cooma 36-Eden 0.
