Outdoors Adventure

A visit to Kiah River Cabins is an adventure in the great Australian outdoors. When you step outside your cabin you do not step onto a road or a busy street but you step into nature at its best. Just a short stroll from your cabin and you are on the banks of the Kiah River. You can throw in a line, launch your boat, paddle a canoe or take a nature walk seemingly all from your cabin doorway.

Fishing

The fishing along the banks of the Kiah River including the nearby river mouth, which is just a few lazy river bends from your cabin, or beyond into Twofold Bay and the waiting Pacific Ocean, is first class. Flathead, Bream, Whiting, Flounder, Trevally, Mullet and many others can all be caught from the banks of the river.

Journey out through the river mouth into Twofold Bay and the possibilities are only limited by your ambition and skill. Hook a snapper on the numerous reefs surrounding Twofold Bay or catch a Tuna, Albacore or Kingfish from one of the many schools that migrate offshore. Within walking distance of your cabin is a private boat ramp where you can run your boat back into the water and begin the day - that becomes the story - that you tell for the rest of your life.

Canoeing

Sometimes it seems a shame to spoil the peace and tranquility of a stay at Kiah River Cabins with a noisy outboard motor. On these days you can grab a canoe from the racks beside the private jetty and set off on a peaceful glide down the river. For the bird watcher this is heaven on earth.

Majestic sea eagles nest all around the property and can be spotted searching for prey. Catch a glimpse of a lyrebird scratching at the rainforest floor or snap that photo of a rainbow lorikeet or black cockatoo as it crosses between the trees. Arrive at the rivermouth and gaze at the lazy pelicans drying their wings. Off course you can always fish from a canoe but those pelicans might not like that.

Nature Walk

A formed trail departs Kiah River Cabins and follows the river bank as it meanders down to the ocean. It wanders through thick bushland abundant with wildlife. Besides all the bird life spotted from your lazy canoe ride you can see kangaroos , wallabies and fleeing deer.

The trail leads you to the river flats which open out into the Kiah River delta. Before long you will standing on a long isolated beach looking across Twofold bay at the beautiful township of Eden.

See who can be first to spot the dolphins playing besides the gentle ocean shores.

Rainforest

For the less energetic there is a magic little circular walk which starts from your cabin driveway and leads into a small pocket of rainforest nestled just below the cabins. After strolling through the rainforest you arrive at the river bank and return to your cabin via the boatramp.
