COBARGO MAKE IT TO GRAND FINAL
Cobargo 22 Cooma 4

It will be a big week in Cobargo after they defeated defending premiers Cooma 24 points to 4 to advance to the Reserve Grand Final where they will play the Bega Roosters. The Eels were simply too big and strong for the Cooma Stallions. They scored first through centre Aaron Norris after a good break by fullback Daniel Allen. Daniel Allen converted and they led 6 nil.

The Stallions hit back with a try to their centre Ben Rolfe to cut the lead to 6-4 before the Eels went further ahead when Daniel Allen backed up a Blake Robinson break to use his pace and run away and score. He converted his try and the Eels led 12 points to 4.

The 1st half was a real battle of the forwards with the Eels on top as their defence led by Matt Emerton held tight. Joel Anderson was providing them with good field position with a strong kicking game. For the Stallions Cameron Jones was a standout and constantly ran good lines to trouble the Eels defensive pattern. Half James Boller did some good things with the ball in his hands while replacement Jamie Harry also was strong.

The 2nd half was played out as a real slugfest between both forward packs and neither side able to take control of the game. It was not until 8 minutes before fulltime that Cobargo actually managed to wrap up the game when the experience of Matt Emerton found a hole near the play the ball and darted over. Blake Robinson converted and the Eels were through to the Grand Final leading 18-4.

From the kick off the Eels made a long break through centre Aaron Norris before Damien Allen grabbed the ball and crossed to score. Again Blake Robinson converted and the siren sounded to see Cobargo run out winners 24 points to 4.

For the Eels Matt Emerton was tireless in both attack and defence. Five Eight Joel Anderson gave them good direction while young half back Blake Robinson was also good. Their forwards may not be the fittest pack to play but they all contributed with Tony Tyrell and Tim Salway making many yards up the centre.

The Stallions were well served by 2nd Rower Cameron Jones and his ability to break the defensive line. He was well supported by Korie Elton while half's James Boller and Rod Palmer tried hard all day.
