The Great Southern Inn Eden Tigers really bared their claws last Sunday defeating the visiting Cobargo Eels by 30-6. Eden 16 Tathra 14

June 23rd 2013 by Dave Evelyn

The Great Southern Inn Eden Tigers showed real guts and determination to grind out a hard fought win over the Tathra Sea Eagles in Tathra last Sunday. The weather conditions were far from ideal with rain falling throughout the match, however both sides adjusted their game plans to the conditions with the forwards driving through the middle and looking for a good kick towards the end of their sets. Eden's Dan McKean revelled in the heavy going and was devastating in attack and defence. He was well supported by Dave Render and Connor Myles...... Read Full Story

June 23rd 2013 by Dave Evelyn

The Eden Tigers reserve Grade side regrouped after the previous week's debacle against Cooma to put the Tathra Sea Eagles to the sword in a stunning 42-4 victory. The score was not really a true indication of the game as the Tathra side were right in the game, going to an early 4-0 lead and threatening the Eden line on many occasions only to be repelled by excellent defence.

After the early Tathra try the Eden boys settled down and Pixie Geraghty charged over with the try converted by Dylan Fletcher, ..... Read Full Story

The Great Southern Inn Eden Tigers made the trek to Narooma last Sunday looking for two valuable competition points but after a thrilling finish to the match the Tigers had to be content with a hard fought 24 all draw. When Narooma scored a converted try to take a 24-18 lead with three minutes remaining Eden's cause looked lost, but a deft short kickoff by half Tom Henderson was regained by Jacob Young, which led to a last minute try to Eden's Andrew Evelyn. May 19th 2013 by Dave Evelyn

The Great Southern Inn Eden Tigers put the other sides in the Group 16 competition on notice that they are a genuine title contender with a very impressive 26-14 win over Moruya on Sunday in Eden. Captain Coach Greg Nicholson led his side by example, with every Tiger showing great commitment and intensity in attack and defence. Reserves Crash Back To Earth
Eden 20 Moruya 34

May 19th 2013 by Dave Evelyn

The Eden reserve grade side was brought back to earth on Sunday when a very strong Moruya reserve grade team showed them what the benchmark will be to win the title this season. Eden fielded a skilful young side and the Tigers were confident they could match it with the Sharks side, however the hard headed experience of the Moruya team soon became evident. Eden raised early hopes with the first try to Tyrone Thomas, but from that point it was one way traffic with Moruya running in six tries to go to ...... Read Full Story

Juniors Lose To Moruya
Eden 14 Moruya 26

May 19th 2013 by Dave Evelyn

The Eden Tigers under 18's showed great character but were unable to get over the top of a good Moruya Sharks side last Sunday. The Tigers squad is highly competitive this season , and while they ultimately came off second best on the scoreboard they certainly lost no friends in the 26-14 result. Eden were their own worst enemy in the first half turning over possession with monotonous regularity. First half tries to Jayden Spivey and Joe Stewart allowed the Tigers to hang in the match at 10-10 ....... Read Full Story

The Great Southern Inn Eden Tigers managed to secure a hard fought draw against arch rivals Bega in a tough and entertaining encounter at George Brown Oval last Sunday. The Great Southern Inn Eden Tigers enjoyed a final trial match against Tathra last Sunday in the final match of an action packed day of Rugby League at George Brown Oval. The first grade contest started badly for Tathra when Eden's fullback Dylan Fletcher scored on the end of a good backline move. Tigers Win 2011 Grand Final
Eden 18 Bega 4

September 11th 2011 by Dave Evelyn

The mighty Eden Tigers have won the 2011 Group 16 Rugby League Premiership after a gutsy hard fought win over the Bega Roosters in last Sunday's Grand Final in Bega. Followers of the game often talk about "Grand Final football" and that is exactly what an enthralled crowd were privileged to witness. Eden began the match nervously, spilling the ball on their first possession and then conceding three quick penalties, but the Eden defence was inpenetrable. When the Tigers did get possession they in turn were swamped by heavy defence from the Roosters. As the game settled both sides began to complete and get to their kicks. Tigers fullback Todd Bolton showed his undoubted class in this aspect of the game, proving rock solid at the back all through the match. The sides were both struggling to make ground, in attack, which was not helped by what appeared to be a very skinny 10 metres between the sides, particularly when the Tigers were in possession....Read Full Story

Eden Tigers are 2010 Premiers
Eden 18 Bega 10

The Eden Tigers are the 2010 Group 16 first grade premiers after defeating Bega 18 points to 10 in a nailbiting grand final at the Bega Recreation ground. Eden led 8-4 at half time but had front row forward Tom Lynch sent off just 10 minutes into the second half. What followed was one of the gutsiest performances by an Eden team ever. Eden repelled wave after wave of Bega attacking raids until the 70 minute mark when Bega scored close to the posts and with the conversion took a 10-8 lead. Bega had a sniff of the trophy but that was all as from the kick off Eden pounced on a lose ball and forty year old Neil Baker crashed over to regain the lead for the Tigers. Eden then iced the cake with a last minute try, which man of the match Neil Baker converted from the sideline. Full story later. Web Tiger needs to go and check on the celebrations.
