Under 18's down Bega
Eden 24 Bega 4

The Eden Tigers under 18 side showed some great form to defeat the Bega Roosters last Sunday in Eden . Wins against Bega in 18's have been very rare over recent years and this one was the result of a wholehearted and committed effort by the entire team. The young Tigers stunned their opponents when they scored three quick tries in the first ten minutes to post a 16-0 lead which the visitors never recovered from. the early tries were scored by Tyrone Maher, Ryan Lonsborough and Joe Stewart, with Ben Brumby converting two of them. The Bega side struck back to score an unconverted try through Adrian Reauter and the score was 16-4 at half time.

The Eden boys went right on with the job in the second half, with staunch defence continually frustrating the Bega side. Big Ben brumby brought the appreciative local crowd to life with two barnstorming tries in the space of a couple of minutes to ensure there would be no late Roosters comeback. This was a mighty team effort with Joe Stewart, Aaron Aldridge , Ben Brumby and Mark Grey outstanding. Justin "Dookey" Swires and Yanni Castrissios had their best games for the club and are developing into integal players in this enterprising young side and were also outstanding while Shaq Aldridge, Curly Mattock and Ky Overend also made solid contributions. Swires, Jayden Spivey and Pat Brady, and an ill Andrew Love made significant contributions up the middle in attack and defence while Mitch Farrell, Lonsborough, Joel Grewar and Torey Potter also got stuck right in and provided the solid platform the side worked from all game.

Congratulations to all the players and support staff on a very impressive performance.
