Reserves Crash Back To Earth
Eden 20 Moruya 34

May 19th 2013 by Dave Evelyn

The Eden reserve grade side was brought back to earth on Sunday when a very strong Moruya reserve grade team showed them what the benchmark will be to win the title this season. Eden fielded a skilful young side and the Tigers were confident they could match it with the Sharks side, however the hard headed experience of the Moruya team soon became evident. Eden raised early hopes with the first try to Tyrone Thomas, but from that point it was one way traffic with Moruya running in six tries to go to the sheds with a 34-6 lead. It wasn't a case of Eden not trying hard enough, it was simply that everything the Moruya boys tried in attack seemed to work.

The young Tigers were unfazed by the score line and showed tremendous character to come out in the second half and score three tries to nil with Blake Russell crossing before Ben Brumby crossed twice in quick succession.

Luke Brown trys hard to avoid the Moruya defence. Allan Aldridge passing to Tyrone Thomas.

The final score was 34-20 but the Tigers excellent second half showing will provide plenty of encouragement as the season moves forward.
