Tigers triple triumph
Eden 32 Bombala 16

June 9th 2013 by Dave Evelyn

The Eden Tigers hosted local derby rivals Pambula Merimbula Bombala at George brown Oval last Sunday and the club enjoyed a successful day winning all three games that were played.

In the First Grade clash, Eden ran out convincing winners 32-16 . A tight first half saw Eden score two tries to one, with Matt Evelyn scampering through for the second. The Tigers asserted their authority in the second half with early tries to Tom Henderson and CC Greg Nicholson and went on to record an emphatic victory. Nicholson was inspirational and troubled the Pambula defence with every touch, while Henderson and Matt Creswick steered the side around the field. This was an important victory for the Tigers as it keeps them in touch with the competition leaders in what is a very close Group 16 competition.

Ther Tigers under 18 side also recorded an impressive 38-28 victory over the Dogs. Pambula are always a very strong 18’s side and an Eden victory is always savoured. There were many good players for Eden including Mark Gray, Ben Brumby, Andrew Love, Pat Brady, Justin Dooky Swires, Tyrone Maher, Yanni Castissios, Joel Grewar and Curley Maddock. Ollie Pride also made a strong comeback and will be an asset to the side.

The Ladies league tag had a crushing victory over the Pambula Hot Doggies to cap a highly entertaining and successful day for the Tigers.
