Eden Tigers Brand Sun

Ressies run amok
Eden 42 Tathra 4

June 23rd 2013 by Dave Evelyn

The Eden Tigers reserve Grade side regrouped after the previous week's debacle against Cooma to put the Tathra Sea Eagles to the sword in a stunning 42-4 victory. The score was not really a true indication of the game as the Tathra side were right in the game, going to an early 4-0 lead and threatening the Eden line on many occasions only to be repelled by excellent defence.

After the early Tathra try the Eden boys settled down and Pixie Geraghty charged over with the try converted by Dylan Fletcher, Tyrone Aldridge scored a great try again converted by Fletcher and at the break Eden led 12-4 and no one except perhaps the Eden players expected the second half onslaught they were about to unleash.

Dylan Fletcher again had a big game against Tathra on Sunday. Elvis Tui was showing off his abundant talent against Tathra on Sunday.

Shaq Aldridge showed brilliance to take a cross field kick and touch down early, then minutes later ran off a wonderful pass by Tyrone Thomas to score again. Jake Brumby and Yanni Castrissios were getting through some heavy work in defence and attack, and Mark Gray was having a big game in the centres and burst through the Tathra defence before running 50 m to score. The talented Tyrone Aldridge scored the next try, Tyrone Maher then got in on the act showing great pace and determination to score an 80m try. The evrgreen Blake Russell had a very good match and was rewwarded with the final try in Eden's 42-4 victory.

There were stars all across the field for the Tigers, with Andrew Evelyn, Elvis Tui and new player Keedon Daniels showing their talent. Tyrone Thomas was very good at fullback. If the Tigers can stabilise the reserve grade side and get the team playing the style of football they exibited on Sunday a premiership is a defininte possibility for this Tiger's reserve grade side.
